Remapping for Barry & Vale drivers
Vehicle remapping for Barry & the Vale, calibrated around your car or van
Custom ECU remapping for Barry, Dinas Powys, Rhoose and the Vale of Glamorgan, carried out at our Cowbridge workshop (12 miles / 15 mins via the B4265). Dyno-tested calibrations, van payload torque, and proven reliability.
Custom calibration
Remapping for the vehicle you actually drive
A badge and advertised power figure are only the beginning. We consider the vehicle's ECU software, fitted hardware, condition, fuel and the result you want before deciding what should change.
That means the conversation starts with your exact vehicle and driver brief, not a generic percentage. Software is identified, vehicle health is checked and the calibration is prepared and revised by our own tuners. The result is then assessed using the method appropriate to the vehicle.
Read how custom remapping works, see our research and testing process, or review remap safety and aftercare before making a decision.
One connected process
How your remap is developed
The order matters. Each step informs the next, and a failed health or suitability check can stop the work before calibration begins.
- 01Identify
Confirm the vehicle, ECU, software, hardware, fuel and driver brief.
- 02Check health
Review diagnostic fault codes, live data, boost pipe integrity and vehicle health.
- 03Establish a baseline
Measure initial power and torque output on our 2WD rolling road or on-car logging.
- 04Calibrate
Prepare and adjust custom software tailored to the vehicle, never generic files.
- 05Validate
Log boost, fuelling, and ignition timing under full engine load to prove the gains.
- 06Retain what was learned
Feed verified findings and revision history back into our tuning database.
Testing in Cowbridge
Use the right test for the question
Not every vehicle needs the same test. Drivetrain, condition and the point being investigated determine the useful measurement route.
Our Dyno Developments 2WD rolling road and MAHA LPS 2000 4WD rolling road are available by appointment. Contact us to confirm vehicle suitability, the testing required and your preferred date.

The data and the calibration decisions stay connected
The application behind this website, its vehicle-data platform and our tuning database are developed and maintained by our own team. Every calibration we install is prepared and adjusted by our own tuners for the vehicle, its software, hardware, condition and driver brief.
Our research, calibration decisions and validation work are our own. See why drivers choose Remaps Wales and what we mean by custom rather than generic calibration.
Barry remapping questions
Useful answers before you travel
Where is the Remaps Wales workshop?
Remaps Wales operates from South Wales Dyno Centre, Unit 11 Sambucus Avenue, Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan, CF71 7PB.
How far is the workshop from Barry?
Our Cowbridge workshop is just 12 miles from Barry - roughly a 15-minute drive straight along the B4265 through Rhoose and past St Athan. Use CF71 7PB for navigation.
Why travel from Barry to Cowbridge instead of booking a mobile driveway remap?
Mobile driveway flashers write generic files without pre-tune smoke testing, boost leak checks, or full-load logging. In Cowbridge, our in-house tuners inspect your vehicle, log live parameters under load on our 2WD rolling road, and calibrate software tailored specifically to your engine.
Do you tune commercial vans and fleet vehicles from Barry?
Yes. We regularly tune Ford Transits, VW Transporters, Vauxhall Vivaros, Mercedes Sprinters, and other commercial vehicles for tradespeople across Barry. Remapping provides strong low-end torque for heavy payloads and towing, plus improved fuel efficiency on daily runs.
Do you tune performance and trackday cars?
Yes. The workshop sits beside the circuit. We provide custom Stage 1 and Stage 2 road and track calibrations, live telemetry logging, and dyno power runs for sports and trackday cars.
Can I check my car's horsepower figures before booking?
Yes. You can browse our Car Database to see published stock and Stage 1 horsepower and torque figures for your exact model. No accounts or sign-ins required.
Do I need to book an appointment?
Yes. Because every calibration is tailored and dyno sessions are dedicated, all workshop visits are arranged in advance. Send us an enquiry with your registration to schedule your slot.
Will a remap fix a limp mode or mechanical fault?
No. Software tuning will not repair a faulty sensor, leaking boost pipe, or failing turbo. We run pre-tune diagnostics to confirm your vehicle is healthy before tuning.
